Nets on the Run, Inc. is a Texas-based 501(c)3 public charity that was founded by a lifelong love of basketball.  The fundamental mission of Nets is to support and promote community involvement and healthy, active lifestyles, while lessening the burden on the government of maintaining public use athletic facilities. The primary program of Nets is the replacement of deteriorated or missing basketball nets on public basketball courts.  The secondary program of Nets is to provide athletic shoes and financial assistance to economically disadvantaged youth to assist in their ability to participate in sports programs.

Lee Anthony is a modeling and simulation developer/project manager for a New York-based institution.  An avid basketball fan, his enthusiasm for the sport and love of community led him to coach at levels ranging from elementary school to adult intramurals over a 30 year period.  Now far too old to play competitive ball (“Can’t d-up anymore”), he continues to coach disadvantaged and abused youth basketball in a league that emphasizes responsible, drug-free lifestyles.  In 2002, Lee rediscovered running as a hobby  and has since completed over 20 full and half marathons in seven states.
